Citrus Brown Sugar Body Scrub

Anyone else ready for the scents of spring? It’s usually this time of year that I start making lemon-scented everything. It just smells so clean and fresh! I decided that a new body scrub was in order for that very purpose. Though this time I used the scent of tangerine and grapefruit to change it up. Wonderful for your body, hands, and feet this scrub will rejuvenate your spirit to help get through the remaining winter days!

ingredients & recipe:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup jojoba oil

  • 2 tbsp vitamin E oil

  • 2 tbsp citrus scented Castile soap

  • zest of one lemon (optional)

  • 20 drops tangerine essential oil

  • 20 drop grapefruit essential oil

  • Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl until fully incorporated. Store in a vessel with an airtight lid. If using lemon zest, this scrub will expire more quickly because the ingredients are fresh!

  • To use: apply a small amount to wet skin and gently exfoliate. Wash away with warm water. I like to use this in the shower! This project is not intended for the face.

I used a bit of scrap fabric that I thrifted to top off my little project. This would make a wonderful gift, especially tied off with some twine and a label! I also just like having some fabric on the top for my own bathroom, because it’s cute. I love looking through the fat quarters of fabric at our local thrift shops for this purpose!

Enjoy creating!
