A Deep Midwinter’s Rest | A New Ebook

Hello, dear readers!

After a much needed break, we are back to blogging in the new year. We hope that you all had a lovely holiday season. I felt this year more than ever to seriously slow down and take some pressure off of myself to push through working over Christmas and New Year’s. I am really glad that I did! Amongst spending time with my family and making memories with my little ones, I was able to read through most of The Fellowship of the Ring and play some video games - something I haven’t done in years! It took some time for me to get over the guilt of “playing” but I do believe that it is something we all should have every once in a while.

I was hoping to present our January ebook to you all last week. Hopefully it can be just as meaningful to you now, a bit later than expected! I am really excited to share this collection of recipes with you this month. I am truly proud of how delicious they turned out!

This collection began as a Norwegian inspired recipes, and as I was researching what those might be and coming up with ideas, I realized that I really just wanted some cosy, hearty, and artisanal styled recipes that made me feel nostalgic to what I would imagine eating in a dark, deep wooded forest on a wintry night. Our original concept for this month was “dark & moody fantasy forest” but I am not so sure that translated into what I came up with. Ha! That is what usually happens.

I do know that the lighting in the studio was absolutely perfect for my vision. Thank you, winter sun!

WHAT IS IN THE EBOOK?

This ebook consists of 30 pages of recipes and some inspiration for making meals on midwinter evenings.

There are 6 recipes inside: Blueberry Filled Icelandic Crepes, Nordic Spiced Beef Sausage Rolls, Cozy Raisin Rice Pudding, Earl Grey White Hot Chocolate, Gnocchi Zuppa Tuscano, and Hot Cocoa Choux au Craquelin.

Each recipe is decadent and deeply flavored. I love how rustic they look, and they taste even better. It is difficult to choose which is my favorite. I love this Zuppa Tuscano but the Hot Cocoa Choux au Craquelin is in a close position for first… I can’t pick!

There is also a fun little shopping list printable to take with you on your next trip to the grocery store and step-by-step photos for some of the more difficult recipes.

WHY JOIN PATREON?

Patreon is something that we came across about a year ago. At the time, we weren’t really sure what the best way to use it was for us. As full time content creators, we know that our work is often undervalued. While we love creating content and sharing it for free to whomever may want to use it, we also have a desire to make an income from all of the creativity and effort that we put into our recipes, photography, graphic design, illustrations, and writing.

Patreon is an incredible way to directly support creators and get exclusive access to their content. For our Patreon, we share our ebooks, artwork, exclusive videos, and extra behind-the-scenes things for a reduced price. You can access a lot of these things in our online shop as well if subscriptions aren’t your thing!

For most content creators, the only way we can make a true income is through paid ad work. This would be something like sponsored posts, ambassador programs, or having ads up on our website. We have never wanted to put ads on our website, even though we could make a decent amount of income from them. Instead, we hope that you might just want to see more of our content rather than a big ad interrupting a blog post!

We would greatly appreciate your support and kindness. It means the world to us to have this as our job, and we hope that we can inspire you in some way to live a more wholesome, simple, and seasonal lifestyle. Especially in your fabulous kitchens!
