Happy Fourth Birthday, Tad!

Happy Fourth Birthday, Tad!

On Monday we celebrated my sweet baby boy’s fourth birthday. It is hard to believe that he has been with us earthside for four years and that I was growing him inside of me a little under five years ago. Then I could have never imagined what age four would look like for Tad, but I am so proud of the person he becoming and all that he has shown me in the few years I have known him and had the beautiful opportunity to love him. We woke up with the sunrise and greeted the day as always, followed by breakfast and a few gifts from mama, daddy (still cannot believe we have him!), grandma, and “grumpy" as he calls my dad. This year I made a strawberry cake, or “strawbaby” according to Tad, with chocolate frosting. Every year I think the cakes I make get uglier - BAHA! It’s now tradition. Delicious but so unattractive.

It was gorgeous outside and over 75 degrees so we played all day in the mud! Tad had to take two showers before we all loaded up in our van and headed to a baseball game. Such a good day!

I wanted to share a few photos from the day and that we’ve taken in the past year of being three! What a year it was.

I would say it was another year filled with a love and fascination of farm animals. Lately he has been telling us that he would like to be a zookeeper or a police officer and often sets up his toys into their own individual habitats as we pretend to walk through the zoo looking at the animals. I love listening to his silly stories and those rare moments of calm and serene conversation where we talk about the big things like people and why things happen in the world. I can already tell that this year will be a big leap for him, asking more and more questions every day, starting school, experiencing life with two parents instead of one, and more.

Tad, you are an exceptional person. I am so blessed to be your mama. Thank you for making me a mother, sweet boy!

xoxo Kayla
