Finding Your Flock: A New E-Course!
It's here! It's here! Our first homesteading e-course is finally available to purchase and learn from in our online shop. The more I learn about homesteading, gardening, and raising livestock the more I want to share with you. The fact that I can make an income as a young, single mother by sharing that knowledge with you is something that I could only fathom in my wildest of dreams! Thank you for being here and supporting our small business. The more we grow and see your love of what we are now doing, homesteading, the more that I know we are heading in the right direction. I created this course to help YOU become a better chicken keeper, to share what we do on the daily around the farm (soon! new baby chicks are coming in April!), and how we believe raising chickens in a healthy and natural way is the smartest thing you can do!
How does our online course work? If you have already taken our first course, Beginner's Botanical Embroidery, then you will have a similar experience with this course. If you are new to our online courses, it goes a little something like this:
- You'll purchase the course through our online shop!
- After purchasing, you'll receive two emails. One will be a receipt confirmation and the other will be the digital goods delivery (your PDF of the course!). Inside the digital goods email, you'll have the option to download the PDF (please do this immediately as the link expires after 24 hours. If you forget to do this, just email me, and I will send it to you again at no additional cost! We don't mind at all.) Inside of the PDF is your access code to enter the course.
- Once you receive the secure access code, go our website and click on the Online Courses page from our menu.
- Scroll down and find Finding Your Flock and click enter course. Type in the access code, and you are in!
- Once inside the course, you can decide which lesson(s) you want to read and begin with. It is self-paced and therefore, you can revisit any of the lessons you want at any time after purchasing. You'll have lifetime access!

Private Q+A Board
You can ask me any questions you can think of about chicken keeping on the question and answer board, and even add your own two-cents to other classmate's questions if you so choose! Our Q+A board comments are set up like threads, so feel free to like or comment on someone else's comment.
The best part about this course? Jill created over 20 original illustrations for you to print out and enjoy! The PDF for this course comes with a fully illustrated chart of herbs to feed your hens and use as herbal remedies, my top 10 favorite breeds, the inside of a chicken coop, a temperature chart for chicks to hang near your brooder, a chick checklist, a monthly egg tally chart, and pages to print to track your chicken expenses and earnings! We wanted to include a lot of personal touches with this course to make it unique, pretty, and fun to visually learn!
Keeping chickens is never something that I thought I would fall in love with so deeply! From their inquisitive and unique personalities, their sustainability on the homestead, and simply the beautiful look of their many different feathers they make such an entertaining and easy going pet. Friends ask me all of the time why I think chickens are so great, and I always tell them that if I were to have any pet I would always choose a couple of chickens! Caring for them is truly simple; they do not whine and beg for attention nor do they destroy your home. Easily trained and fun to watch, you can choose to raise them cuddly or not! In this course I hope to teach you how to fall in love with your flock, how to create your own treats and natural remedies, and to think hard about what it means to raise your own food. What do you think? Are you ready to dive into the art of keeping chickens?
Have a question? Leave a comment here! I'd love to help you out. Thank you, again, for supporting myself and my family. It truly makes my heart feel that much fuller being able to teach about something I love so dearly!
