Country Living Fair in Atlanta, Georgia 2017
Last weekend we made the 13 hour trip down to Stone Mountain, Georgia to sell our handmade goods at the Country Living Fair! This makes our fourth fair, and it was just as lovely as ever. Well, I won't lie to you, we were a little miserable at this fair. The weather was all over the place! Friday was sunny and beautiful, Saturday it rained in spurts all day long, and on Sunday it was in the 40s with a windchill of 36! What a rollercoaster. There was a lot of booth rearranging, covering, and we didn't bring our winter coats. Duh!!! Either way, shoppers still came out, and we welcomed them graciously into our tent. The folks shopping at these fairs are always so kind and full of the warmest compliments. We love that!
This is probably the most favorite booth we have ever decorated. Technically, Jill does all of the decorating; I sit and watch nervously. I am absolutely terrible at putting together a space. I am not sure what will happen if I ever have my own home! I can whip up a pretty good flat lay, though!!! She did a great job, and we received so many kind words about it; thank you to those of you who came out to see us! We were able to meet a few followers and readers at this fair; you guys! I always jump and squeal like an idiot when I meet a blog reader. It's the most surreal and incredible feeling ever to meet you and to know that you enjoy reading what we have to share in this space. I mean, literal DREAMS. Thank you!
By far the favorite item we had for sale was our embroidery kits! Aaaah! So blown away by that. We never know what to expect when it comes to these, especially in person. It's far and few between people who are open to learning a new craft, but I think these fun little kits are here to stay. We keep trying to figure out the best way to offer them to you, if we should have kits that are always available in our shop, or if we should only sell monthly drops. It's hard to know what y'all might like best! We have been getting a lot of questions about bringing previous designs back, like the Happy kit or the Summer Harvest. We will be bringing all of our kits from previous months back at the end of November (minus the special gifts inside) for the holiday season! That is going to be so fun. We will also be releasing two NEW kits as well for the month of December. So a lot of new things coming!
I am also planning to photograph some new towels and herbal dream pillows this upcoming week to share. Lots of fun gift ideas for Christmas!!
We rented a larger AirBnB than normal this time because we thought Tad and my dad, Kurt, might travel with us and hang out by the lake. They ended up staying home, which was probably for the best with the crazy weather, so we invited our friends, Mark and Janice, to come stay with us. Mark had a booth at the show, which was absolutely gorgeous. Definitely go check out his website! He does some incredible wedding event and interior decor. We love Mark and Janice! It was such a fun weekend getting to spend it with friends, though we were all exhausted by the end of the day. It's always nice to get away for a while and remember why you love home so much! Thankful to all of our wonderful friends, the Stella Shows team, and Country Living Magazine for another amazing weekend. It's always a pleasure!
