UATR Embroidery Club | November Introduction

UATR Embroidery Club | November Introduction

Hello, stitchers! We're starting the month of November's Embroidery Club a little late this time. BUT JUST A DAY LATE, so I think I can be forgiven, right?! Truth be told, we feel like we have been racing against the clock since we put our house up for sale. With that comes not being home very often so others can walk through, which comes with the territory, but wow I feel way behind on all of my to-do list. We also just got home from a show this past weekend in Georgia! It's been a crazy couple of months, but we are almost out of the woods and into the holidays. A entirely new set of woods! I have a lot of fun, perhaps disappointing to some you, but mostly good news in this post so read up! Don't skip!

This month's design is 18th century inspired and named after the cottage home that Marie Antoinette had built in the gardens of Versailles to escape palace life. It was called the "Hameau de la Reine" which translates to "The Queen's Hamlet" and is absolutely breathtaking. Google that place if you have a minute! The reason I chose to share an inspired design, dating back to the 18th century specifically, is because Jill and I have been dreaming and scheming up stitching... an inspired gown! We are currently researching what exactly that might entail, but I wanted to try my hand at replicating some design work from the period and getting it in my head the types of stitches those artists once used. From what I can tell, chain stitch was all the rage for the period. I decided to use mostly stem stitch for this pattern because I know a lot of you, especially beginners, have trouble making chain come out clean.

I also want to mention that I am now providing detailed instructions on how to perform stitches. It is similar to my course, just for the main stitches you will use for each pattern, and they come inside your PDF packet! No more hunting down stitches and trying to figure out how to make them. I have them ready for you right away. Why did I do this? You deserve it, and I also will probably not be making anymore live instructional videos. I know - I am sad, too! I just don't have the time right now. I do hope to bring them back, I just do not know when at this point. However, I do hope to have some permanent instructional videos on YouTube in the future!

This month's kit comes with a free herbal tea and a little banner to hang on your wall for the giving season! Just like last month, only the first 25 buyers receive these free gifts. That means you have to act fast because they tend to sell out within a day or two! Last month's kit stayed a little longer, I think because it looked more difficult. This kit you can finish within a week at least, depending on your skill level, and you will have a beautiful piece to hang amongst your gallery!

I have been getting a lot of questions as well wondering if we will be bringing our previous kits back to our online shop. The answer is... YES! All of our previous kits will be available to purchase on November 27th. You'll be able to buy them separately, in groups of three, or as an entire set of 7. December's kit has something extremely special and exclusive about it (excited to share soon!) so it will not be included in the bundle, which will be discounted. I am excited to share! The digital patterns will also be available again.

One last update... I wanted to let you know that I have some big plans that are being dreamed up right now! As our business grows, along with the popularity of our embroidery kits, I still want to give back to you in every way that I can. With the trial and error of this club, which sometimes feels like me standing on an imaginary soapbox, and the fails of me going live consistently, of creating a space for all of us to chat, I think I may have a solution. FREE! There are a lot of you who have willingly signed up for our Embroidery Club Newsletter, and I love that and want to take advantage of it! Starting in January, every week I will release a new FREE pattern that you can download and stitch. It's going to be awesome! We will still drop a monthly pattern + kit, but these free patterns and craft ideas will be exclusive to newsletter subscribers only. Scroll to the bottom of this post to get on the list so that you can have access to free patterns all month long!

Phew! That is all of updates for Embroidery Club. I hope you got through the mass okay. As always, don't hesitate to buy this kit if you love it. They do sell out fast, and if you love the freebies that come with it, this is your one chance to grab them! When I bring back our previous kits (including this one) at the end of the month, they will not contain any freebies like herbal tea or mini dream pillows. I hope you enjoy stitching up this design! And make sure you watch the new season of Outlander while you do so (;

xoxo Kayla
