Book Club: April
If you've been following us for a little while, you may know that I was going to be an English major in college. I love reading. Reading and writing are one of my many passions, and even though it is probably my favorite thing to do, I feel like I don't talk about it that much. It's almost like my secret love, and I'm always too embarrassed to tell people, "Hey, I sometimes write fiction!" Probably because then they ask to read it. It's something I'm still not ready to put out there about myself, but I'm working on it. Maybe I'll actually write a book one day! It's a dream.
I was inspired by A Beautiful Mess's monthly book club. They had a great idea! I would love to follow in their footsteps, but I'm going to change it up a little. Instead of reading a book for a month and then returning at the end, I'd like to meet up once weekly. We'll just see how it goes. Maybe it will be too much this time around, but I'm giving myself a reason to have to blog and also to discuss literature. So, same time next week (Saturday, April 9th), we will meet here!
Here is April's selection, Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. I've been wanting to read this book for a really long time, but I could never find it available! I was planning on doing this book club reading only the classics for a bit because there quite a few that I have not read yet. But this beauty popped up, and I couldn't resist. Next month, we'll start reading the classics, so if Practical Magic isn't your style, hang in there! This week, make sure you stop at your local book shop to pick up a copy, download an ebook, or check it out from your local library! We'll read to Premonitions, which is, I'm assuming, Part II. This book isn't written in chapters. Feel free to follow along and discuss with me in the comments. Would love to interact with each and any of you!!
See you on April 9th! My gorgeous bracelets are by the lovely Jennifer over at Rust and Willow.
